On day three of LORCA Live, we were joined by cyber investors, one of the UK’s most successful cyber entrepreneurs and a renowned expert on the human side of cybersecurity to discuss how we can support our country’s cyber startups.

We heard from:

Henry Whorwood, head of research & consultancy, Beauhurst shared insights about post-lockdown investment activity, before Plexal’s managing director Andrew Roughan spoke with a panel of leading investors about their priorities, whether the tech sovereignty debate is affecting their decisions and how easy it’s been to build relationships remotely. Andrew was joined by:

  • Will Sheldon, vice president, Accel
  • Karen McCormick, chief investment officer, Beringea
  • Kenneth Pentimonti, principal, Paladin Capital

Then, James Chappell, co-founder and chief innovation officer at cyber scaleup Digital Shadows, shared insights on his company’s growth journey and the impact the pandemic has had on digital transformation.

Closing the session was Dr Jessica Barker, co-founder of Cygenta and chair of ClubCISO, who spoke about why diversity matters for cyber and the importance of empathy.
